★Blog #1: Fruitger Aero★

Frutiger Aero. An aesthetic so popular, yet so far forgotten. Frutiger Aero is the name of a design aesthetic that was quite popular in the mid 2000's to early 2010's tech, marketing, logos, and U.I. This aesthetic is known for its glossy and shiny textures, bubbles, nature, water, sparkles, etc. Becoming mainstream in 2004 & dying in 2013, this design aesthetic was extremely popular, with some designs still taking inspiration to this very day. This design is associated with Microsoft's Windows Vista, Nintendo D.S, Xbox 360, and soap bottles (which still use the same design choice till this day-) for some reason? Frutiger Aero is more known in the coperate world, for its extensive use in coperate office advetisements and artworks. Many to most companies adopeted this creative direction in 2004-2006.
A heavy aspect shown in Frutiger Aero, is skeuomorphism, a U.I design that mimics real life things, for example, IOS 5.
Frutiger Aero also has to do with humanism art, which is what makes it so relateable. Humanism is the concept of making things relatable & accessible for all humans. Humanism is demonstarted by using people & nature in the design, which is what Frutiger Aero does, to make people relate to the subject. -- Humanism essentially made it easier for less tech savy people to be able to relate to and use technology by incorperating designs they have already seen (nature, people, etc.) with skeuomorphic elements.
Frutiger Aero also incorperated some elements of eco-friendly branding, which started in around 2013, when Frutiger Aero started being switched out for more modern designs. These elements appeared again in the 2010's with companies like Tesla, Recycling companies, and future technological promises/advancements.
Although Frutiger Aero has mainly been forgotten, the branding is still seen in many places today, some places you might not even realize.
